Orinda Union School District

A Learning Community that Inspires, Engages, and Supports All Students
OUSD strives to nurture the social, emotional, and physical well-being of all students. We recognize that at times students may experience social-emotional challenges that impact their ability to learn. We are prepared to meet the ever-changing needs of the whole child and address these barriers they may be experiencing by offering a variety of mental health services.

Wellness Centers

Starting in the fall of the 2022-23 school year, all OUSD Elementary Schools will have Wellness Centers staffed by credentialed Wellness Counselors. The focus of Wellness Centers is to provide safe, supportive environments on school campuses where students can be provided support for a variety of issues from stress, anxiety, depression, grief, family life, and health needs. Through both on-campus programming and community-based partnerships, students receive coordinated wellness support, counseling, and other services to maximize student engagement and success.

Counseling Program

OIS Middle School Counseling Program focuses on positively impacting the lives of all of our students by partnering with the staff, parents, and community. To better serve our students, the counseling services were expanded during the 2021-22 school year.

Our program offers comprehensive planning and guidance services addressing student academic and personal and social development.

Additional Services

Additional intensive counseling services are available and provided to students based on assessments of identified needs.
