Food Services In Orinda Union School District
Orinda Union School District is committed to providing healthy, nutritious meals to all students. OUSD staff partners with students, parents, and the Chartwells team to promote healthy habits and lifelong nutrition practices and ensure ongoing nutrition and food services improvement.
All meals served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines. Our goal is to provide students with a variety of nutritious and appealing foods that meet their needs.
Free Breakfast and Lunch for All OUSD Students
Orinda USD will continue to provide FREE meals to all students under the state-mandated Universal Meal program. All students enrolled in the Orinda Union School District will receive breakfast and lunch free of charge. No sign-up or registration is needed.

Breakfast And Lunch Menu
Elementary school breakfast is Grab n Go to the Classroom breakfast offered before the start of the school day. Breakfast at the middle school is offered during brunch.
The lunch menu offers a variety of hot and cold entrees, fresh fruit, vegetables, and chocolate and white milk. All schools offer a daily salad bar that features fresh fruit and vegetables.
Menus are published each month however are subject to change, mainly to supply shortages. If you print the menu, please know it may change. The online menus are updated as soon as aware of the shortage.

Meal Accommodations
If your child has a medical condition, including food allergies, that require meal accommodations, please fill out this form and submit to your school secretary.
Summer Meal Service Sites

Free And Reduced Meal Program
While ALL students are offered free meals, eligible families are highly encouraged to apply for the Free & Reduced Meal Program. Students who qualify for the program are able to take advantage of additional programs and services, including (but not limited to)
- Discounted utilities such as internet and cable
- Discounted TRAFFIX annual bus pass
- Vouchers for free before and after-school care through an extended learning opportunities program.
