The English Learner Program provides specialized instruction in English Language Development (ELD) to support students in acquiring English. These instructional approaches are designed to enhance students' academic English skills, equipping them with the necessary tools for success in school and beyond. 

 

 

 

OUSD has an EL specialist that works with both students and teachers. The specialist arranges dedicated collaboration sessions with teachers and grade levels to develop effective lesson scaffolding techniques and incorporate strategies across all subject areas. The EL specialist may work within a classroom or may pull students out individually or within groups to provide support alongside regular classroom instruction.
