Facilities and Maintenance
Department Overview
The Facilities, Maintenance, Grounds, and Custodial Department oversees the creation of physical environments that encourage successful teaching and lifelong learning. The department is responsible for providing a preventive maintenance program, the planning and implementation of the District's Master Plan, the Deferred Maintenance program, grounds upkeep, and custodial services.
Additionally, the department oversees construction and renovation of the district's facilities. Construction services include overseeing project planning, new construction, major renovations, modernizations, and repair projects.
Facilities and Grounds
The facilities department has a staff of dedicated employees who provide services to five schools. Our goal is to provide safe, well-maintained schools for students, parents, faculty, support staff, and the community.
The department is currently developing District's Master Plan and Deferred Maintenance program to ensure a proactive, systematic approach to facility management.
Quarterly reports will be provided to the Board of Trustees to report on the progress of completion of the Deferred Maintenance program.
Bond Funded Projects
Orinda USD is grateful to the parents and community for their support and generosity in passing Measures E and I. These bond measures, totaling $105 million dollars, will provide students with safe, 21st-century learning environments by addressing critical renovation, modernization, and safety needs at District schools. For more information on projects funded by the bonds, please visit the Measure E and I page on our website.
Custodial Services
The Orinda USD custodial staff supports all schools by maintaining the cleanliness of our classrooms, campuses, offices, and grounds. Keeping our campuses safe and clean is a top priority. OUSD schools employ day and evening custodians to help support the students and maintain our campuses.
